As is with my other cherry burl pens:
Extraordinarily time consuming, not to just craft with expertise & precision, but to log and mill entirely myself, cherry burl is a domestic wood that is usually considered to be in the same class as mahogany for usage in the United States (source: Bell Forest Products). It is a wood for fine furniture & luxury items. The stiff & strong wood has complex interwoven grain with incredible blue streaks to birdseye-like speckles. Black cherry is also prized for being “photoreactive” —in other words—it darkens with exposure to light. This the reason cherry is known for its dark reddish hue with age.

This pen is finished with my proprietary friction polish which is primarily composed of dewaxed shellac. After, it was polished with Bowling Alley paste wax for a feel and shine second to none.

Brazilian Tulipwood, scientifically known as Dalbergia decipularis, is a striking & sought-after exotic hardwood that originates from the rainforests of Brazil, particularly in regions such as the Amazon basin & other parts of South America. It is a member of the Dalbergia genus, which is renowned for producing some of the world’s most beautiful & valuable woods used in high-end furniture, musical instruments, fine crafts & luxury writing instruments.

One of the most captivating features of Brazilian Tulipwood is its vibrant and rich color palette. The heartwood of the tree ranges from golden yellows to deep reddish-browns, often with darker streaks or stripes that resemble the petals of tulip flowers, hence its name. How It’s Made

This pen, in addition to all of my other black cherry burl pens is logged, sawn, and turned by me. From tree to you, it is all done by me. No sawmills; no large corporate distributors; no misleading marketing; no bulk manufacturing—each pen has been carefully selected and crafted to highlight its “personality” & unique qualities.

All pens are finished with my homemade friction polish (de-waxed shellac & boiled linseed oil) over which an acrylic lacquer is applied. The pens are then buffed with carnauba wax as a final touch giving it a luxurious feel & shine.

I have been expanding into acrylic and acrylester materials, now making and crafting all kinds of high-end fancy user friendly pens.

These pens are eye-catching & colorful mosaics. I handturn these creative acrylic pens for both regular customers who have a particular taste with respect to design—width, thickness, style & trim—and in general for the individual who sees that special resin pen that catches their eye.

I turn to shape & style upon request. I will create special listings & turn orders for a variety of products: different colors, different materials, and different hardware (the metal components) to suit all needs.

Lastly, with respect to finish, my finishing process doesn’t involve days, weeks or a long drawn-out time frame. I use logic to impart a glass finish. They are stunning, mirror-like! I mention this because I believe it highlights my capacity to make the best of the best, efficiently, which speaks volumes regarding my entire operation.
