This pen is handmade from genuine gaboon ebony wood–click mechanism is a Schmidt SKM-88, trim is gunmetal.
This pen takes standard cross refills, and is about the size of your standard Bic pen, save the fact that it’s made out of one of the most desireable woods on the planet.
As I’ve written hundreds of product descriptions, I generously allowed ChatGPT to write it’s description of Gaboon Ebony. Here’s what AI had to say:
ChatGPT says: “Gaboon Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) is a rare and highly prized hardwood that originates from the tropical rainforests of Central and West Africa. It is known for its exceptional beauty, rich color, and unique grain patterns, making it one of the most sought-after woods in the world for fine craftsmanship and decorative purposes.” … I would agree with this assessment.
In short, the pen comes with black or blue ink & uses Cross style cartridges. I can laser engrave it, but you won’t see the engraving! Sorry, but it is literally that level of pure black.
Finish is dewaxed shellac, 2lb cut, several, I think 5+ coats, then polished with carnauba wax.
Anyways, it’s a really nice pen. Durable and easy to carry for regular everyday use.
